Harley-Davidson launches three new motorcycles in India
Harley-Davidson launched the Softail Breakout, Ultra Limited and CVO Limited in the Indian two-wheeler market
Harley-Davidson expanded its Indian portfolio as it launched three new motorcycles. The three new bikes are the Harley-Davidson Breakout, Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special and Harley-Davidson CVO Limited. The Harley-Davidson Breakout has been priced at Rs 16.28 lakh whereas the Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special will set you back by Rs 29.70 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). The Harley-Davidson CVO Limited will be the flagship offering for the American bikemaker in our country and has been priced at a whopping Rs 49.23 lakh. The Harley-Davidson Breakout’s has a low muscular profile owing to its raked out front forks and further enhanced by the chrome and black accents. The drag-style handlebar, large 21-inch front wheels, massive 240mm rear tyre, chopped fenders give the Breakout an appearance of a chopper. Powering the Harley-Davidson Breakout is the iconic Twin Cam 103 motor with a displacement of 1688cc. The air-cooled motor produces 129Nm of peak torque at just 3,000rpm while Harley hasn’t revealed the power output. The engine is mated to a six-speed Cruise Drive transmission and belt drive transmits power to the rear-wheel. Braking is done by disc brakes at front and rear while ABS is standard. The Harley-Davidson Breakout tips the scale at 321kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 19 litre.
The other bike heading our way is the Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special under the performance touring range of motorcycles. The bike falls under the Project RUSHMORE initiative started by the American bikemaker last year. The Harley-Davidson Street Glide Limited is a fully specced out version of the popular performance touring model. It comes equipped with a High Output Twin Cam 103 powertrain, Boom! Box 6.5GT infotainment system Batwing fairing with slipstream vent and Dual halogen lamps. The Street Glide Limited has been installed with Enforcer cast aluminium wheels and Reflex linked brakes with ABS. The Street Glide Special comes equipped with a 1,688cc engine that makes 129Nm of torque.
The Harley-Davidson CVO Limited is a more uber offering based on the Street Glide and will be the new flagship offering for the American bikemaker in our market by replacing the Electra Glide. The major difference between both the CVO offerings is the custom suspended seats. The seats come equipped with a backrest for both the rider and pillion. Also the seats can be adjusted for lumbar support and in-seat heating. It also features the same infotainment system as seen on the Ultra Limited. Apart from the twin luggage compartment, the Harley-Davidson CVO Limited also features Tour-Pak luggage case that can easily store two full-face helmets. Other features on the Harley-Davidson CVO Limited include cruise control and keyless ignition. Powering the Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide is a Twin Cam 110 motor. The 1,800cc, liquid-cooled mill churns out 155Nm of peak torque at 3,750rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Braking is done by disc brakes at front and rear while ABS is standard.
